In-Person Access

All in-person appointments are at the NWIC’s location at SOMO Village, 1400 Valley House Dr., Suite 210, Rohnert Park, CA 94928. There are no fees for parking at our SOMO location.

In-house access to the inventory is only available to qualified individuals via appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Special arrangements for access may be possible on Mondays or Fridays, as determined by NWIC staff.

Your safety and the safety of everyone at the NWIC and on our campus is our highest priority. All employees, students, and visitors must complete a self-screening before arriving at the NWIC each day. You should monitor whether you potentially have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive and provides instructions for next steps. These steps are crucial to keeping the NWIC, our campus, and the community safe. Failure to report may result in personnel action pursuant to the collective bargaining agreements. We encourage you to stay vigilant in prioritizing your health and safety at all times.

Masks are not required at the NWIC, however, wearing a mask indoors will continue to be recommended.

A self-screening ensures you are free of the following symptoms and you have not been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19:

  • Fever (temperature above 100.4 degrees)
  • Cough
  • Chills
  • Sore throat
  • Feeling achy
  • Shortness of breath / difficulty breathing
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Unusual or new headache in the last 24 hours
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Tingling or numbness

If you believe you have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, you have symptoms of COVID-19, or you tested positive for COVID-19, please notify us immediately.

SSU continues to monitor COVID-19 conditions. We will maintain a ready posture, and should circumstances change, SSU will evaluate all protocols, including mask requirements, and communicate as appropriate. For questions about this update, please contact covid.monitoring@sonoma.edu.

Directions

You can search for “Northwest Information Center” using an online search engine to find our location. If using a navigation app, search for the following destination: “1400 Valley House Drive, Rohnert Park, CA”. This will usually show directions that get you to the parking lot where you need to be.

From the North

Take Hwy 101 southbound to exit 483 for Rohnert Park Expressway. At the end of the off-ramp, turn left to head east on Rohnert Park Expressway. Continue with directions from Rohnert Park Expressway eastbound.

From the South

Take Hwy 101 northbound to exit 483 for Rohnert Park Expressway. At the end of the off-ramp, turn right to head east on Rohnert Park Expressway.

From Rohnert Park Expressway eastbound

Follow Rohnert Park Expressway for about 2.5 miles - to where it ends at Petaluma Hill Road. You will drive past the entrance to the Green Music Center on the Sonoma State University campus. At Petaluma Hill Road, turn right and head south to Valley House Drive – about 1.7 miles to a traffic light. Turn right onto Valley House Drive to head west towards SOMO Village; drive straight through the intersection with Bodway Parkway. After Bodway, take the second right, just after the heart-shaped sculpture, and follow the curved road to the parking lot (do not turn left into the service entrance for the 1100 building). Park in any legal spaces. (If you need to charge your electric vehicle, you are welcome to use one of the charging stations.) If there are no spaces available, there is additional parking available on a lower lot accessible from this location.

Entering SOMO Village from Bodway Parkway and Valley House Drive, turn right at the second driveway. While on this driveway, you’ll pass wonderful sculptures, the Event Center and notice our building 1400 Valley House Drive clad in brick, aluminum, and stucco to the west. In the mid-point of 1400 Valley House Drive enter the double door entrance, near the Snoopy statue. Head to the right to come upstairs via stairs or elevator, where you’ll find our suite 210 just past the balcony to the left.
